Higher Education Student Affairs Graduate Certificate
The Higher Education Student Affairs Graduate Certificate in the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies at Texas A&M University-Commerce is committed to the professional preparation of student affairs practitioners and educators in higher education. The online graduate certificate prepares awardees to meet the on-going societal changes and transformations that are affecting college students in institutions of higher education in the United States. It is essential for higher education administrators and educators to understand how supportive and inclusive environments can be created, which will allow college students to flourish in all ways possible. The graduate certificate will assist award earners with critical knowledge and skills that will allow them to work effectively with all types of college students in a variety of institutional settings and to facilitate their meaningful learning and development.
The Higher Education Student Affairs Graduate Certification in the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies at Texas A&M University-Commerce is designed as an exclusive on-line training program that prepares current or aspiring student affairs practitioners and educators to handle critical matters facing college students enrolled in a variety of colleges and universities. This 12-credit-hour graduate certificate is purposefully designed to enhance an understanding of higher education and its relationship to the practice of student affairs administration. The courses chosen for the program are focused on the diversity of today’s college students, adult learning and development issues, and how supportive, safe, and inclusive environments can facilitate desired student outcomes.
